A soccer tale
Fast forward to 2004, it is just before England v France at the Millenium Stadium, an important European Championship qualifier game. David Beckham goes into the English changing room to find all his team mates looking a bit glum.
"What's up?" he asks.
"Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it's important but it's only France. They're shite and we can't be bothered"
Beckham looks at them and says "Well, I reckon I can beat these guys by myself, you lads go down the pub and wait for me."
So David Beckham goes out to play France by himself and the rest of the England team go off for a few jars. After a few pints they wonder how the game is going, so get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads "England 1 - France 0 (D.. Beckham 10th minute)" He is beating France all by himself!
Anyway, a few more pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers "It must be full time now, let's see how he got on"
They put the teletext on. "Result from the Millenium Stadium : England 1 (D. Beckham 10th minute) - France 1 (Z. Zidane 89th minute). They can't believe it, he has single-handedly got a draw against France!! They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate him. They find him in the dressing room, still in his kit, sat with his head in his hands. He refuses to look at them.
"I've let you down lads, I've let you down" he moans.
"Don't be daft, you got a draw against France, all by yourself. And they only scored at the very very end!"
"No, No, I have, I've let you down. I got sent off after 12 minutes"

well, it's 4:04 am in the morning, and for some reason or other i can't quite get to sleep, even though i was dead tired when i picked up my book to start reading. and what a beautiful book it is!! bookends: a novel by jane green took me quite by surprise (and no, i'm not being paid to say this.. really!!) it was just one of those books i happened to find on the overcrowded bookshelf in the room my sister and i share (although technically it's her room) i have to say, i think my reading bug is coming back again.. and the great thing about it is that as i lay in bed trying to get to sleep after i'd finished reading the book, i thought of a great design for a bag!! and hopefully this one will be a little easier to do than the reversible one i'm still working on..

i've got all these things running through my mind, and i'm not sure how to capture them down in words, so if i get a little abstract, forgive me!
i went down to borders today with housemate c, or as i called it, the housemate's adventure number 20329403402, where we oohed and ahhed over the paperchase corner that they have there. the stationary is just toooo cute to resist!! i eventually ended up buying a godfather card, with a great quote on the back that chad's always reciting to me. he's a huge godfather fan, and seeing anything from the movie always makes me think of him! so of course when he got the card, he started reading out the quote in his marlon brando/don corleone voice! *grins* you're such a cutie pie!
so after walking around borders, and then in kinokuniya, we thought that a ice blended pure chocolate from coffee bean was in order. but we also forgot that on a saturday, it can get pretty crowded! that is, until a really nice lady, with a really nice kate spade handbag (i have to admit, the handbag was GORGEOUS!) motioned to me that she was done and that we could have her table. i suspect she didn't want to give the table to the guy lurking nearby, maybe because she didn't really like the look of him, but hey, if she wants to give me her table, i'm not going to argue with her! so we sat and we talked, and we sipped on our drinks, chomped on our tiramisu, and tried to hear ourselves over the din of the place..

there was a world cup game showing today, korea vs turkey. so i wore the reddest shirt i had, and unfortunately wasn't quite in the mood to wear white pants or skirts, so i wore my engineered skirt instead. i met chad at the citylink mall about 7 when he'd finished work, which meant we were terribly late in meeting kelvin, grace, rachel and lorraine who were allllll the way on the other side of the island at pasir ris. we'd planned on meeting there at about 6, grabbing some food and then heading over to kelvin's place to watch the match. unfortunately by the time we got to pasir ris, it was half time, and i knew that korea weren't doing too well when tamara called up shouting in my ear and sounding quite upset. i didn't really mind tamara shouting in my ear, mainly because i couldn't hear her anyway, but i knew that if she was upset about the game, it had to mean that korea probably weren't doing very well. we realised in horror that by half time korea was losing 3-1 to turkey. *sighs* and the horrible part about it was that the first goal was scored 11 seconds into the game.
yes, you read right, 11 SECONDS. *double sigh*
it was good that korea managed to score another goal in the 93rd minute though, because losing 3-2 doesn't sound as bad as losing 3-1!!

so we screamed at the tv set, yelling at korea to shoot the ball and try and score more goals, and screamed at turkey to stop wasting so much damn time just because they were leading.. when it was all over, we went downstairs to have some dinner. that's one of the things i love about singapore.. no matter where you are, you can pretty much get food at any time of the day. there's no denying a singaporean the food that they're craving for!! one bad thing did happen though, i lost the ball bearing to my tongue stud while i was eating (don't ask where it went, unless you REALLY want to know!) and i had to eat really slowly after that, and try to keep the stud in my tongue with only one ball bearing. if this is getting too gross for anyone to read.. well, then just stop reading!

i guess i'm just a sadist huh? with all the piercings and the one tattoo. heh! i'm almost like the rebel in the family, but my explanation for it is just that i'm the youngest (oh gee, out of two kids!) but i've always been a little more experimental that my sister has. she's just the more athletic one - slim, toned and tanned. i'm the homebody - curvier, slightly plump, and pale like a piece of paper! ah well! i guess i'll just have to get used to people exclaiming in surprise that 'the two of you are just so different!!' and then turning to me and saying 'you haven't been stealing your sister's food have you?!'
for the record, ladies and gentlemen, my sister easily eats TWICE what i do, and after she's full, promptly goes to take a nap.
c'est la vie i guess! i don't think there's anything i can do about it, short of major plastic surgery!

okay, my eyes seem to be closing now, better head off to bed before i fall asleep at the keyboard and end up with marks all over my face. not very glam you know!

good morning good morning everyone!

yes, i guess i did wake up in a pretty good mood today! i still feel a little tired, like i haven't got enough sleep, which has been happening over the last few weeks, especially since i was sick. but hey, waking up in a good mood at least helps a little! *grins* it looks a little gloomy outside, and i just heard a bit of thunder rolling through the clouds, but oddly enough, i think it's perfect weather! it's been melting hot the last few days, soaring temperatures, with lots of humidity makes for no fun at all. i guess this means i can finally wear my tops with three quarter sleeves or long sleeves! although if the rain doesn't last, it'll mean that the humidity will come back. *erk*

seems like everyone's flying in and out of singapore the last week or so, and it'll continue till mid july! sharon and sharin left for LA on the 20th and won't be back till 5th july. giselle arrived the following morning, and stayed for two days before she flew off to taiwan. she'll be back though, around july 8th for another couple of days. pingwen's gone off to KL with her mother for about 6 days, and she left on the 26th. housemate c's gone to KL too, she just left yesterday night for a spot of shopping up in the Malaysian capital for the weekend. tomorrow morning lorraine will head off to england for about a week. rachel, one of chad's ex classmates and a friend of lorraine's, has been here for about a week now, and she heads back to melbourne on the 8th, while another ex classmate, grace has been here since the 26th, and she'll be staying till the 24th of july!
*phew* that's a whole lot of people coming and going!

i'm hoping to head down to borders today to grab some books on sewing. i've been making lots of pouches and bags the last few days, and i've been attempting a reversible bag the last 2 days, but it doesn't seem to be working out very well! i've figured out what some of the 'factors' might be, but i thought i might as well get some books which might be able to help me move things along a little faster! i've been trying to come up with a name for a company that i can sell my bags under, but i can't seem to think of anything.. any suggestions anyone??

germany vs korea
so there i was, jumping around through the day because i was so excited that we were all going to be at muddy murphy's watching the match together. i just love watching soccer in a pub, there's just so much more atmosphere, because there are a ton of people you don't know just cheering along with you! like i tell everyone, even if you're not in the mood, by halftime, you're screaming along just as loud as everyone else!

i got to the pub about 5, coz i was worried that there weren't going to be enough seats after all the working people arrived, and lorraine joined me soon after, so we had a nice time just sitting and chatting, and her friend rachel joined us a little later on (she's on holiday from melbourne, and was a little dehydrated having spent the day in the hot sun in little india). it would have been a whole lot better though, if it hadn't been for that ugly half drunk angmoh, with the real ugly asian woman, who insisted on sitting at the table i was trying to save for my friends (about 9 of us went in total), and whenever somebody asked if the rest of the seats were taken, he'd tell them that they were free, even though he knew i was trying to save seats for my friends! what a bastard!! i mean, c'mon! i'm not trying to save a whole section of the pub for my viewing pleasure, it was just ONE table! *grrr* i guess i wouldn't have been so pissed off about it, had it not been for the fact that when he came to sit at my table, there were tons of other empty ones around! nevermind, i guess there's nothing i can do about it now, except believe that ugly angmohs with ugly asian women have no sense of social skills!

anyway! keryl, ping wen, and joanna soon arrived, and we all settled ourselves down (on the now kind of crowded table) ordered up some bar snacks and waited for the game to start! danny, seok bin, and her friend eugene came after that, but because we didn't have anymore space on the table, they had to stand behind. (yeah i know, i'm fixated on that ugly angmoh who kept giving away my seats! i just can't believe someone can do something like that!)

the match itself wasn't too bad, i was dressed in my white singlet and red skirt in support of korea! GO KOREA! but i think in my heart i knew that germany were a much better team, or rather, had a brilliant goal keeper, and were more likely to win. it's like someone said (sorry, but i can't remember who!), 'you bet on germany, but cheer for korea!' which i thought was quite true actually! by the time the game had started, the pub was pretty packed, and i think most people were cheering for the korean team, except for a few german supporters here and there. there was a caucasian family sitting in front of us (after the ugly angmoh told them the seats were free! grrrr!) who kept cheering for korea, and lorraine and i thought it was rather odd in the beginning, and came up with the theory that they were following korea because most of the people in the pub were, and didn't want to seem out of place! we found out later we were wrong with our conspiracy theory, because it turns out the family's dutch, and they were supporting the korean couch, Hiddink, who's dutch too!

so the final result was 1-0 in favour of germany, so now they'll go on to face either brazil or turkey. i know the odds are with brazil, but i'm really hoping that turkey can upset them and get into the finals instead. i really don't like brazil!!

and housemate c! hope you're feeling a little better now :)

i just got this in an email from lorraine, who got it from donald!
it's really funnnnnnnnny!

Remember the book "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus"? Well, here's a prime example offered by an English professor at an American University. In-class assignment for Wednesday "Today we will experiment with a new form called the tandem story. "
The process is simple. Each person will pair off with the person sitting to his or her immediate right. One of you will then write the first paragraph of a short story. The partner will read the first paragraph and then add another paragraph to the story. The first person will then add a third paragraph, and so on back and forth. Remember to re-read what
has been written each time in order to keep the story coherent. There is to be absolutely NO talking and anything you wish to say must be written on the paper. The story is over when both agree a conclusion has been reached."

The following was actually turned in by two of my English students:
Rebecca - last name deleted, and Gary - last name deleted.

----------------------------------------------------------------
STORY: (first paragraph by Rebecca)

At first,, Laurie couldn't decide which kind of tea she wanted. The chamomile, which used to be her favorite for lazy evenings at home, now reminded her too much of Carl,
who once said, in happier times, that he liked chamomile. But she felt she must now, at all costs, keep her mind off Carl. His possessiveness was suffocating, and if she thought about him too much her asthma started acting up again. So chamomile was out of the question.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Advance Sergeant Carl Harris, leader of the attack squadron now in orbit over Skylon 4, had more important things to think about than the neuroses of an air-headed asthmatic bimbo named Laurie with whom he had spent one sweaty night over a year ago. "A.S. Harris to Geostation 17," he said into his transgalactic communicator. "Polar orbit established. No sign of resistance so far..." But before he could sign off a bluish particle beam flashed out of nowhere and blasted a hole through his ship's cargo bay.? The jolt from the direct hit sent him flying out of his seat and across the cockpit.
----------------------------------------------------------
He bumped his head and died almost immediately, but not before he felt one last pang of regret for psychically brutalizing the one woman who had ever had feelings for him. Soon afterwards, Earth stopped its pointless hostilities towards the peaceful farmers of Skylon 4. "Congress Passes Law Permanently Abolishing War and Space Travel," Laurie read in her newspaper one morning. The news simultaneously excited her and bored her. She stared out the window, dreaming of her youth - when the days had passed unhurriedly and carefree, with no newspapers to read, no television to distract her from her sense of innocent wonder at all the beautiful things around her. "Why must one lose one's innocence to become a woman?" she pondered wistfully.
----------------------------------------------------------
Little did she know, but she had less than 10 seconds to live.Thousands of miles above the city, the Anu'udrian mothership launched the first of its lithium fusion missiles. The dim-witted wimpy peaceniks who pushed the Unilateral Aerospace Disarmament Treaty through congress had left Earth a defenseless target for the hostile alien empires who were determined to destroy the human race. Within two hours after the passage of the treaty the Anu'udrian ships were on course for Earth, carrying enough firepower to pulverize the entire planet. With no one to stop them, they swiftly initiated their diabolical plan. The lithium fusion missile entered the atmosphere unimpeded. The President, in his top-secret mobile submarine headquarters on the ocean floor off the coast of Guam, felt the inconceivably massive explosion which vaporized poor, stupid, Laurie and 85 million other Americans. The President slammed his fist on the conference table. "We can't allow this! I'm going to veto that treaty! Let's blow 'em out of the sky!"
----------------------------------------------------------
This is absurd.? I refuse to continue this mockery of literature. My writing partner is a violent, chauvinistic, semi-literate adolescent.
----------------------------------------------------------
Yeah?? Well, you're a self-centered tedious neurotic whose attempts at writing are the literary equivalent of Valium. "Oh shall I have camomile tea? Or shall I have some other sort of FUCKING TEA?? Oh no I'm such a air headed bimbo who reads too many Mills & Boon novels.
----------------------------------------------------------
Asshole.
----------------------------------------------------------
Bitch.
----------------------------------------------------------
Wanker.
----------------------------------------------------------
Slut.
----------------------------------------------------------
Get fucked.
---------------------------------------------------------
Eat shit.
----------------------------------------------------------
FUCK YOU ,YOU NEANDERTHAL!!!
---------------------------------------------------------
Go drink some tea - whore..

housemate c and i went to see gosford park today, which was quite different from what i'd expected, but was nevertheless still a great film to watch. robert altman filmed it perfectly, and it always seemed as if the camera just happened to be there, capturing all the moments, rather than the moments being played out because there was a camera there.if only more movies could be made like this! the world of cinema would certainly be better for it.

but then again, there's nothing like a good brainless action/comedy flick just to take your mind off things!! and here's a little odd spot for the day, from the age website..
A Croatian man arrived bright and early, armed and disguised, to rob a bank in the town of Karlovac. One problem: the bank was not yet open. Staff inside saw the man angrily shake the doors a couple of times before leaving empty-handed. He remains at large.

yesterday was an exciting day, lorraine and i decided to head down to the marriott hotel to watch the england-brazil game (i can't believe england bloody lost the game!!!) after giselle (more about her in a bit!) mentioned that she might be watching the match there. she didn't, in the end, but i didn't actually find that until today! but i'd say lorraine and i had a good time sitting on the floor of bar none, sipping on our beer and staring at the big screen! we started a trend too, because after we sat down on the floor, all these other people started coming around and sitting on the floor around us! after that we hopped on down to suntec city to do a small spot of shopping and to get some dinner with her friend and her friend's cousin, because we were all headed off to a play called Medea done by the KU NA'UKA Theatre Company from Japan as part of the singapore arts festival. i didn't get to watch as many events as i would have liked to because of my flu, but i was really glad that i managed to catch this performance.
this is what the arts fest website says about the performance piece:

The tale of the vengeful Medea who killed her own son upon her betrayal by her husband for whom she forsook all, is a powerful tragedy that strikes at the heart. In KU NA'UKA'S production, Euripides' Medea is transported from ancient Greece and Colchis to modernising Japan and pre-modern Korea in a staging that will grip the imagination and stun the senses.

Founded in 1990 by Satoshi Miyagi, KU NA'UKA draws inspiration from eastern and western literary classics. Miyagi's overriding quest has been to explore and distil the fundamentals of humanity - of life and death, love and hate - through his unusual approach of having two actors simultaneously play one role. Founded on Bunraku, the Japanese traditional puppet theatre that flourished in the seventeenth century, Miyagi's new theatrical method, called Logos and Pathos, has one actor (Logos) serving as a Narrator-Speaker, and the other serving as a Performer-Mover. By taking elements from Japanese traditional arts such as Bunraku, Kabuki, Noh and combining them with today's technology, the company has founded a new style that represents contemporary Japanese theatre.

grip the imagination and stun the senses it definitely did!

today itself was such a wonderful day!
i started off the morning by lounging around the house a little, but soon realised that time was passing by a little faster than i had expected, and ended up running around my room like a headless chicken trying to get my things together, because i was off to meet an old high school friend of mine, giselle! so after all the excitement of trying to get ready and get there on time (it turned out both of us were late anyway!) i was standing outside the haagen dazs near tangs, waiting with chad, when this girl comes flying out of nowhere and envelopes me in a hug! GISELLE!!! (and as soon as i can, i'll have photos of her up on my website!)..

we headed off to scotts picnic to grab some lunch, before deciding that we wanted to watch the korea - spain match that was playing. so we headed down to muddy murphy's to meet tamara and some of her friends, who had grabbed a great table in front of the big screen tv, and we all yelled and screamed along together as the match progressed. i don't think i've ever felt so much frustration before in my life! especially when the game didn't end till a penalty shoot out which korea ended up winning 5-3. (and joon, if you happen to be reading this by some freak of nature, GOOO KOREA!!) it was great to watch a match in a pub though, with a whole bunch of other supporters yelling along with you (or against you, depending on which team they were supporting!) at the end of the match, giselle, jason, her boyfriend, chad and i headed off to wander around town, trying to bring giselle and jason to stores where they could buy some stuff that they needed.

man, it was wonderful just seeing giselle again! i've known her since i was 16, and that means we've known each other for 6 years already! goodness gracious me, how the time really flies!! we went to the same high school in perth, and i can still remember all those days like it was only yesterday! that ugly green uniform that we had to wear, sitting out on the lawn during lunch times making fun of one another, those nights that i stayed over at her place, and we ended up doing aerobics at like 4 am in the morning! (don't ask, it's a weird story!) it's been about a year since i last saw giselle, but sometimes it feels as if we were never apart! *sighhs* here's to us gorgeous! and hopefully we'll get to see each other much more in the future!!

i got this in an email from julie, and i just HAD to share it with everyone!

Things I hate about everybody.....

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time... I know where my watch is pal, where the f*ck is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2. People who are willing to get off their arse to search the entire room for the TV remote because they refuse to walk to the TV and change the channel manually.

3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". F*cking right! What good is a cake if you can't eat it?

4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the f*ck would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?

5. When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No tosser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the f*cking floor.

6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?". Didn't really give me a choice there, did you sunshine?

7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it.

8. When people say "life is short". What the f*ck?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever f*cking does!! What can you do that's longer?

9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, Knobhead?

10. People who say things like 'My eyes aren't what they used to be'. So what did they used to be? Ears, Wellington boots?

11. When your eating something and someone asks 'Is that nice?' No, it's really revolting I always eat stuff I hate.

12. People who announce they are going to the toilet. Thanks that's an image I really didn't need.

13. McDonalds staff who pretend they don't understand you unless you insert the 'Mc' before the item you are ordering... It has to be a McCchicken Burger, just a Chicken Burger gets blank looks...........Well, I'll have a McStraw and McJam it in your McEyes you McTosser.

14. When you involved in a accident and someone asks 'are you alright?'. Yes fine thanks, I'll just pick up my limbs and be off.

i think the person who wrote this must have been in a really bad mood that day!

after that we headed off to the airport to pick up my sister, who'd just been on a holiday to koh samui. dammit, she's now darker than me again. but then again, who am i kidding? everyone else out there is darker than me!

i was quite surprised with the flea market at zouk.. i was sitting outside waiting for housemate c to arrive, and i kept seeing all these people walk in, and walk back out about 10 minutes later empty handed, so i didn't think there'd be very much in there for us to have a look at. but boy was i wrong!! there were tons of all these little knick knacks that people obviously didn't want anymore, just as i'm sure that if i got rid of all my own knick knacks, there'd be at least 10 people lining up for it! so i ended up buying this really cute bag for $2.. i'm such a bag slut! i've got so many already, and i've got a ton of drawings for bags that i want to make as well!! if it weren't for the fact that i didn't bring alot of money with me, i probably would have bought the lomo camera that someone was selling.. i know that housemate c really had her eye on that one!

we didn't end up going to the john lennon exhibit though, because we were just too damn tired to have to walk that far. okay, so maybe it was more out of laziness, but we're getting on in the years, and it's a little harder to summon up all that energy to trapeze all over town nowadays! but we managed to get ourselves over to the heeren, and had a bit of a walk around there. the 1.99 store appealed to us the most, of course, because it's just got the best stuff around! except i think now it's the 2 dollar store, because they're trying to phase out those pesky one cent coins!

after a bit of walking around all over the place, i headed off to borders to wait for my mom. i figured if i had to wait, i might as well be somewhere i can sit down and do something at the same time, so i grabbed a copy of the hobbit and sat myself down in a chair. housemate c headed home before that to catch the spain vs ireland game, which she was supporting ireland for. (they lost after overtime penalities 3-2)

dinner was a rather long affair.. my mom and i decided to go and have XO fish noodles at west coast, and we were starving by the time the food came, because it took almost an hour to get to us!! we forgot that it was father's day today (oh, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD!!) and it was packed full of families having dinner together.. but boy did we eat those noodles!!!

dark city is on tv now, and i think it's a very underrated film! jennifer connelly is good in it, keifer sutherland is great in it, and even though rufus sewell hasn't done much, he's pretty damn good in it too!

alright, i better head off to bed to try and get a full night's sleep tonight, and hopefully dream some sweet dreams!

muttered deb @ 11:23:00 pm |

i think i'm finally getting over this flu of mine, my nose doesn't seem to leak as much anymore, although my throat still likes to give me trouble once in a while. i got my first full night's sleep the night before, and i felt so much better in the morning! silly me thought it'd be something that would continue on to the next few nights, but of course, i'm not that lucky! so i tossed around in bed again last night, dreaming of ice hockey and soccer (must be all that darn world cup action!)

i ventured out for the first time in a week, to wander around town with chad, and then meet my friends for dinner at night. it was quite fun to see everyone again, and i finally got to give keryl all her presents, including her birthday present, which was about 3 months overdue. heh! but hey, better late than never right?

today, i'm off to venture around a flea market being held at zouk with cindy and cheeks, and then we'll go over to the hyatt hotel to have a look at the john lennon exhibition going on! watch out world, here i come! *cough cough*

i've somehow come down with a fever and the flu.. which is something that hasn't happened for at least 5 years (the fever bit that is, i've had the flu lots!) and the worst part about it is that i've been hit by insomnia too! *grr* so here i am at 3 20am, having tossed around in bed for a while already, and although my brain has slowed down a great deal already, my eyes are half closed and my body's about to give up, i just can't find it in me to get some good solid sleep.
*sighs!*

lorraine just sent me this article that was posted on the age online, it just proves you should always get someone who understands the language to write out your tattoos before you get them done!

A British teenager who thought he had "Love, Honour and Obey" tattooed on his upper arm in Mandarin received an unpleasant surprise when a waitress in a Chinese restaurant started laughing at him, London's Metro newspaper reported today.

Hairdresser Lee Becks, 18, paid STG90 ($A230) for the tattoo on his right upper arm and was thoroughly pleased with the result - until he found out it actually read: "At the end of the day, this is an ugly boy."

He realised something was wrong when the waitress started giggling and saying he was obviously trying to make people laugh.

Becks pressed her to explain and discovered the ugly truth.

A return visit to the tattoo parlour in Southend proved fruitless, as it had closed down. "I suspect the tattooist knew he was closing and just wanted to get his own back for some reason," Becks told Metro, a freesheet distributed on the London transport network.

Becks keeps the tattoo covered, but at a recent night out he showed it off to friends. A group of Chinese girls came over and burst out laughing.

He now plans to spend STG600 ($A1,535) to have the tattoo removed.

i got a personality test from housemate c's site.. sounds quite alot like me i think!
Your Type is
ENFJ
Strength of the preferences %
Extroverted (22) Intuitive (44) Feeling (33) Judging (11)

You are:
slightly expressed extrovert
moderately expressed intuitive personality
moderately expressed feeling personality
slightly expressed judging personality

ENFJs are the benevolent 'pedagogues' of humanity. They have tremendous charisma by which many are drawn into their nurturant tutelage and/or grand schemes. Many ENFJs have tremendous power to manipulate others with their phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship. But it's usually not meant as manipulation -- ENFJs generally believe in their dreams, and see themselves as helpers and enablers, which they usually are.

ENFJs are global learners. They see the big picture. The ENFJs focus is expansive. Some can juggle an amazing number of responsibilities or projects simultaneously. Many ENFJs have tremendous entrepreneurial ability.

ENFJs are, by definition, Js, with whom we associate organization and decisiveness. But they don't resemble the SJs or even the NTJs in organization of the environment nor occasional recalcitrance. ENFJs are organized in the arena of interpersonal affairs. Their offices may or may not be cluttered, but their conclusions (reached through feelings) about people and motives are drawn much more quickly and are more resilient than those of their NFP counterparts.

ENFJs know and appreciate people. Like most NFs, (and Feelers in general), they are apt to neglect themselves and their own needs for the needs of others. They have thinner psychological boundaries than most, and are at risk for being hurt or even abused by less sensitive people. ENFJs often take on more of the burdens of others than they can bear.

Famous ENFJs:
David, King of Israel
U.S. Presidents:
Abraham Lincoln
Ronald Reagan
William Cullen Bryant, poet
Abraham Maslow, psychologist and proponent of self-actualization
Ross Perot
Sean Connery
Elizabeth Dole
Francois Mitterand
Bob Saget, America's Funniest Home Videos, Full House
Dick Van Dyke
Andy Griffith
James Garner
William Aramony, former president of United Way
Gene Hackman, actor (Superman, Antz)
Brenda Vaccaro
Randy Quaid, actor (Bye Bye, Love; Independence Day)
Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts quarterback

lorraine's just sent me the coolest song! she says it's from a nike ad that's been playing while the world cup is on.. i haven't seen it yet, but now that i've heard the song i definitely want to see the ad!! it's an old elvis song called a little less conversation, and it's been remixed to add in a little more beat to it, but if people nowadays could do songs like this, that'd be just great!
i've spent the whole day at home sewing and sewing! i've made a total of two pouches and a handphone pouch today, which isn't too bad really, considering that in between i was just lounging around watching tv.. hehehe! but i'm getting better at it, and faster as well, so hopefully i'll be able to do bags and pouches with no problem at all! YAY!
mary poppins is on central at the moment.. apparently it's going to be a month of musicals with the likes of chitty chitty bang bang, and a whole lot more being shown.. well done central! at least it's showing stuff that i think it worth watching!

'a little less conversation, a little more action!'

[i n s o m n i a]
for the past few days i've been having trouble getting to sleep, and then waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep. *Sigh* and i just seem to be getting more and more tired as the days go past, but there's nothing i can do about it, except to try and slog through the day to get it over and done with! i've been getting bad headaches too, which i hope aren't migraines!
anyway, since i couldn't sleep, i've done more quizzes..

you're girl, interrupted. you're fun and friendly, and just a little bit crazy.

take the which prettie movie are you? quiz, a product of the slinkstercool community.

I'm The Funny One!
i think this only applies when i'm not sleep deprived though!

with the number of times that i've been to town since the great singapore sale has been on, i think i must be a real expert on it by now! but amazingly enough, everytime i go, i discover something new! there's a section at takashimaya that has branded name clothing on great sales! i managed to pick up a topshop halter top which chad so cleverly picked out among the bin of clothes..
the only downside to the day is that my right lymph gland feels a bit swollen, and i've had a headache following me around the whole day.. i took two panadol extras already, and it seemed to work for a while, but now the headache's back. *sigh* i think it's a bad sign that i'm going to be sick! something i definitely don't want to happen!!

on a sports note, the ice hockey team that chad supports, the Detroit RedWings have just won their western conference championship, and they're about to go onto the playoffs for the Stanley Cup, after beating the Colorado Avalanche in Game 7, 7 - 0! SEVEN NIL! in a game 7!! that shouldn't be happening at all! but hey, at least they've made it, and maybe this year they'll be lifting up the Stanley Cup in celebration! :)

another day of pounding the pavements..
lorraine and i walked through orchard, and visited quite a few mango stores because lorraine was searching for a top that we'd both spotted when we were surfing through the mango website one of those days.. it's been a while since we saw it, and by a stroke of luck, the third mango store we went to had it (okay, so some might not call that very lucky!). amazingly enough, that was the only purchase that we made the whole day!!
well, almost.
there was a topshop top that i was eyeing as well, but unfortunately they didn't have my size at the wisma store. and the store in suntec had my size, but somehow hadn't caught up with the sales yet - they were only offering 30% off on the top, when it should have been 50. but because they hadn't recieved the memo (the guy said something about the manager not being in today..) about the further sale, they couldn't give it to me! *sighs* so i've put it on hold, and hopefully i can go and collect it sometime soon!
gosh i love sales!

after dinner with chad and lorraine at crystal jade kitchen, we were making our way to olio dome for dessert when i heard someone calling out my name rather loudly! of course i didn't think it was someone actually calling ME, since it never ever happens, but after the third 'DEBORAH!!!!!' i turned around and found myself looking at keryl and tavis! hee.. it's nice to bump into people when you're out, just wandering around.. *waves to keryl and tavis* i guess next time i should just turn around when i hear my name being called. but i swear! it's never ever happened before!!
