i just came back from watching enigma with lorraine, kelvin and a couple of lorraine's friends, and i have to admit i was pleasantly surprised by it! i'd heard pretty good reviews of it so far, but it really went beyond what i was expecting from it. okay granted i didn't know that much about the film in the first place, i thought it did a good job of unravelling the story at just the right speed...it was another lazy day, i just love not having to do any work sometimes *giggles*
just had lunch with rutti in the afternoon and then we just sat in the cafe till about 4 pm.. there's just nothing like watching the world go past sometimes..

i've finally done it!after two days of working on it, reworking it, revamping it and redoing and redoing, my website is finally complete! so everyone, please feel free to go and have a look, the link to it is in my little links column on the left just there *points*
today, i went into school and handed in my LAST ASSIGNMENT! it felt pretty damn good when i dropped the assignment in, just twirled around and hightailed it outta there!
oh joy oh joy! i just hope that nothing goes wrong with it now.. otherwiseeeeee.. there'll be lots of ass kicking to be done!
i wonder what's left out there for me to conquer now...

daylights savings has begun, which means that i am now three hours ahead of singapore, compared to the two before.. it doesn't sound like alot, but you can do alot in an hour you know! :Pthere doesn't seem to be much for me to do now that the essay is out of the way.. i guess i can finally catch up on all that sleep that i've been missing out on! ahahhaha :) but hey, at least i can get down to the packing.. and maybe a little more shopping! *grins*
i went to watch the Arditti Quartet yesterday with lorraine and sharon, and although my first impression was that it was all very bizarre, i have to admit that i give the Arditti Quartet alot of respect because they were really adventurous with the pieces that they chose to play. why bizarre i hear you ask.. mainly because they didnt play conventional pieces, with movements and typical harmonies and melodies, they played pieces that made no sense, required them to actually thump their instruments at some parts, and play parts of their instruments, i never knew could be played! it did kind of end up sounding like a film score to a scary hitchcock movie, but it was certainly a performance with a difference!

and that means that once this gets marked, i would have GRADUATED!
i'm not going to go too overboard at the moment, i'm going to wait till the essay is IN the assignment box before i say anything else..

i've got about 1400 words for my essay so far, so all i need is the last 600 and then i'm home freeee!! *glory be*
the state library was quite useless yesterday, they've just implemented this new system of having only registered users being allowed to get the call slip books. and at that rate, it doesn't tell you where the book is going sometimes! i waited almost an hour before wandering downstairs to find the book there! *rolls eyes*

nevermind, once i get this essay over and done with, i can hand it in and get the hell outta there!

ahhh.. i've just had one of those days when i feel like i've accomplished so much!i woke up after a fitful night of sleep.. i kept waking up every two hours and couldn't quite get back to sleep :(
but once i decided to get up for the day, i handed in my assignment, even handed an extra copy of the assignment to one of the ladies that i interviewed.. went to the bank to run some errands, and then went to the supermarket to stock up on food!
and i even made it to JB HI-FI to get some MDs and copied the ministry of sound chillout sessions... *ahh*
and on top of that, i managed to clean the house!

almost one down!i ran around in the humid weather today doing my radio interviews, and then spent four hours in the studio editing it all..
so far my two interviews total up to 16 minutes which is NOT good news because my limit is 15! it doesn't sound like much, but this is just the interviews alone, which means i haven't done the introductions or added any music at all! *sigh*
now i'm just dead tired...

warm warm warm today...okay, so it was really only about 23 degrees, but compared to the cold weather that we'd been having before, it sure seems like alot warmer than it really was!
i spent the day hanging out with rutti and kabuki, her akita puppy which is the ultimate people magnet.. we're hoping it would be a guy magnet, but at the moment it seems to be attracting more girls! *doh*
and if anyone is buying cindy those camper black mules, i wouldn't mind a pair either! *flutter eyelashes*
i just watched 'an audience with kylie minogue' and i think i'm a born again kylie fan! she even sang 'especially for you' with kermit, which i thought was the cutest thing in the world!

pure heaveni've just had the most pampering shower in my life! i decided today that i needed a little pampering because it always ends up making you feel so wonderully relaxed and sexy after a pampering shower. i feel like right now all i had to do was throw on a sexy dress, put on some make up, and i could go out and conquer the world! unfortunately, i have two assignments that need to be done, and well... no place to go really :P
but my origins salt scrub, oh what a miracle scrub it is! i feel like i'm just floating on a little bit of heaven, with fluffy clouds just holding me up.. as the origins website says 'it's a spa in a jar!' and boy were they right! one thing i did learn though, make sure you don't have any cuts on your body first, because it is afterall, a SALT scrub.. *owie*
my hair's been deep conditioned, my body has been scrubbed, my face is in a mask and after i dry off, i'm going to slather on mosituriser like there's no tomorrow!
if only if only, if only we all had the time to do this once in a while, i'm sure the whole world would be much happier! and we'd all get along alot better... who wouldn't be in a good mood if you felt you looked like a million dollars?
now if only i could find a cute swedish masseur to give me a full body massage.... *hmmmm*

hmm, weird dreams galore!i went to take a nap earlier in the evening, and almost couldn't get myself up.. the odd part was that i had a dream within a dream too!
i consulted an online dream dictionary which helped to clear things up, somewhat..
it was only through an analysis with sharon (loh) that it got clearer, and i'm hoping the message that i decoded from it was the actual message that it was trying to send to me! ehehehe
i spent most of the day just bumming around the house, doing generally nothing at all! it's turning out to be a rather lazy weekend, which might not be too good, because i'm trying to finish the rest of my assginments as fast as i can. there are things out there to do! places to go! people to meet! and a degree to graduate from!

well well welli've finally done it! i have no more classes ever to attend towards getting my bachelor of arts degree at RMIT University!
it's kind of a good feeling, although slightly odd at the same time, because it means that from now on, things are going to be very different.. not too drastically different i hope!
but then again, i've been feeling slightly odd the whole day because of a dream i had last night.. it's one of those dreams that you can't quite explain, but it leaves you feeling odd the whole day through. it would be great if my dream came true though! but let's just leave things up to fate shall we? :)
the peace camp at the state library seems to be growing a little.. they've taken over one side of the lawn already, and it doesn't look like there are any signs of it stopping! i wonder when it is that they're going to decide that there's enough peace already.... they could be there for years!!

dust dust dust! it was everywhere today! but i guess that's what happens when you start packing up the things in your apartment that have been lying around for about 4 years or so. that's not to say that i havent' cleaned the house at all in the four years that i've been here! but my apartment just seems to be a dust magnet sometimes. and having a major construction site across the road probably doesn't help much either!but i've managed to get some packing underway, i've filled up two small boxes (well, they each used to contain about 12 bottles of wine.. *Whistles*) and cleaned up the house quite a bit! it feels so much better to be able to do something, rather than just sit around waiting for the time to come where i can fully pack! at least this way, i can pretend to myself that i won't be so stressed when the actual day comes around because i've already started!
ooh, tomorrow ladies and gentlemen, is my last last last last, last ever day of school! can you believe it? i'm finally graduating from university! okay, so maybe i shouldn't talk so soon, and get my assignments done first, but at least it's my last official day of school!!
i wonder how i'm going to feel when i hand in that last assignment!!!

in another brilliant flash, i've found the fatboy slim website! he'll be spinning in singapore on the 7th of december which is great news for me, because i'll be back in singapore by then! YAY!

but of course, for now, i'm making myself quite content with my corrs unplugged album playing as loudly as possible (which really isn't that loud, considering it's 2 21 am at the moment and i don't want to wake my neighbours!) it turns out that the tickets in australia are a whole lot cheaper than back home, which is kinda making me want to go to the second concert tomorrow night! i'm just depending on the fact that the corrs might tour again (please please please please) so i can watch them the second time around instead!
bad news though, cindy's internet is out for the moment, and so i haven't really had the chance to talk to her since she got back to headquarters! well, except for a little while the day after she got back... okay, so that was only yesterday, but still! after having her around for three weeks, one day can seem like alot you know!

dammit!i just remembered that the corrs are playing in concert tonight :(
i shall have to come home after dinner and play my corrs cds at full blast and pretend i'm at the concert there with them... kinda hard to re-enact, but i guess i'll have to try my hardest!
here i am at home, pretty much all changed and ready to go, waiting for 8 pm so i can finally leave the house to go and meet my aunty for dinner. i hate those moments when you don't have enough time to actually DO something, but it's too much time to just sit around and NOT do anything at all! *grr*
i've already got all my make up on (oh the joys of origin's underwear for lashes!), plus the top that i'm going to wear, all i have to do is slip into my jeans and my heels and i should be off!
lorraine spent the afternoon here learning the violin, and i have to say, she's not bad for a first timer! i taught her how to play the G major scale, so that's a start. good thing she remembered what notes are in the G major, because for the life of me, i was never ever very good at scales at all. but give me the musical score to anything, and i can probably play the life out of it!
i found the Rolling Stone's website (the magazine, not the band!) and i love it! i've always liked the magazine, and it never occurred to me to see if they had a website till now! i guess my brain still has a bit of catching up to do with technology :P
the peace camp outside the state library is still there, i think they're into their 5th day now, and they've even got a spiffy barbeque pit that someone brought along! i'd say these people are really living it up out there! the only thing is that they probably don't have any running water, or toilet facilities, let alone electricity.. hmm.. i think i better avoid going near them till i know they've all had showers!

i went to school this morning, after having woken up in a panic at 7 am because i realised that i'd forgotten to set the alarm. i did end up skipping my lecture, because i was just so tired! but when i got to school i sat there for about 15 minutes wondering where everyone was when finally someone else from my tutorial kindly informed me that everyone had taken a field trip to the triple R studios, which is a community radio station that RMIT students have to do work for as part of the radio course..there's been a group of people who have decided that in the name of peace, they would start living on the state library lawn! they've been there for almost four days now, and if you ask me, i think they're getting a pretty good deal.. where else in the world, can you live in a tent in the middle of the city, rent free? i don't know how much of an impact they can make though, it's not like they're on a hunger strike or anything, judging from the barbeque pit that they've set up near their camp! but hey, i guess at least someone is doing something out there!
i trudged to the post office today feeling a bit like santa claus.. i had four packages to send out - one to chad, one to his little sister (it's her birthday!), one to sharon (loh) and one to my mom! and the post office seemed extra busy today, seems that people are all in a rush now to register themselves so that they can vote in the upcoming elections. *bah* can't we all just get along without having to have a government?

since i left you...my housemate, the one that i always wanted but never had, has left melbourne. :(
before everyone out there starts thinking that i've gone a little bonkers lef me explain.. after having spent almost three weeks here, cindy has most sadly, gone back home to singapore, and left me and my apartment here in melbourne.
so as i sit here eating my hazelnut praline tim tams (damn you cindy, i'm going to put on weight!) thinking back on the weeks that have just gone past, i'll have to say that i think i'm going to be missing cindy alot :( all the places that we went to, i think we would have made any seasoned tourist feel ashamed!
i'm glad to say, i don't think our friendship will ever be the same again, in a good way of course! :)
(and NO you twisted people, there's no innuendo behind that!)
this was kinda a sad day in several aspects, cindy's left, and today was also the last formula one race, and while that may not seem like such a sad thing to any other person, i think i'm going to miss our traditional f1 dinners more than anything else (or lunch in today's case). i think it's one of the things that i've always enjoyed most about the race - being able to get together with friends and just sit down and enjoy the race. i hate to say it, but i think this is going to be the last f1 dinner that's going to take place for a long long long time to come.. and on a slightly off track note, i hate those magic eye pictures! *grr*
at least it's the last week of school now, and once i finish all my assignments, i can finally be released into the big wide world out there..
i think perhaps i better start getting a survival kit together!

love love lovei'm in love with my new anna sui nailpolish! yes, i succumbed to desire and bought the nail polish i was dying for. i've just finished painting my toe and finger nails.. and if i had to die from getting high from a nailpolish, i'd choose this anna sui one anyday!! it does look a little odd on my fingernails though, but i think it's mainly coz i'm not used to painting them in the first place and suddenly i've got this dark green/grey/blue mix on them.. but for anna sui nailpolish, i'd definately live with it!
now i'm just eyeing the red mascara that she has there... hmmmm!
i took more pictures of queen victoria market when cindy and i went with her one last trip before she has to go.. i bought some aromatherapy oils and incense sticks.. if only i had more money, i'd have bought up more things there!
on a side note, we've finally gotten through stage 200 of puzzle bubble! yipee!

this corner of the earth is like me in many ways..i went to crown with cindy today, where we got caught in the rain, and i couldn't take any nice pictures (or not THAT nice anyway) with my joycam.. i'm determined to try and get as many pictures as i can to keep for memories.. but i doubt that melbourne will be very easy to forget at any rate!
it's like midnight but i'm in a pretty hyper mood! i don't even know why! ahaha, but i'm sure as sharon (low, not loh) will say, 'you're always hyper!!'
i'm also in love with this anna sui nailpolish.. and the best thing about them is that they actually smell really nice! not your usual pungent nailpolishy smell, but a lovely like rosey smell! trust anna sui to be able to come up with something like that!
watching cindy pack made me feel like wanting to start packing up my stuff too! the only problem is that most of the stuff that i want to pack, i think i'm still going to need over the next two months.. *sigh* decisions decisions.. but i'm sure that eventually i'll get round to the packing, and i can leave the apartment the way that it was when i first got here, so that the next lucky soul who rents the place can enjoy it as much as possible :)
cindy and i have been struggling with a stage of puzzle bubble (yes, i know, we're both 20 odd already..) but the game's just perfect for those days when you don't really want to use your brain for anything more than just matching some coloured bubbles :P we're playing the collection now, which has about 1000 odd puzzles in it, and we're stuck (majorly, cursing at the tv stuck) at stage 200! i think we've been at it for almost 2 days now, which is a horrendously long time to be working on just one stage!
just WHAT were those japanese designers thinking?!

cindy and i had a pampering night in, we put on face masks, scrubbed and moisturised! there's just nothing like a great pampering to make yourself feel so much better! the only thing that we have left to do is paint our toe nails.. but since our feet are slathered in moisturiser at the moment *wiggles sock covered feet*that'll have to wait till tomorrow!

i finally got round to watching moulin rouge last night, and i loved loved loved it! i can see why some people didn't quite take to the film though, there were some parts that got a little chaotic and hard to follow, but i loved it, and that's another DVD that i'll certainly be getting my hands on!ooh, and on a awe-striken note, cindy and i went to la porchetta at rathdowne street (apparently it's the original one!) and there are tons and tons and tons of formula one memorabilia all over the place! i thought i was in heaven for a moment! cindy had to keep telling me where all the steps in the restaurant were because i was so busy looking at all the pictures that they had plastered all over the walls.. past and present champions were everywhere i tell you! it was like being surrounded with all the formula one greats while i munched on my alla matriciana, which is the BEST i've ever tasted!

what a gorgeous day it was today! it seems that the melbourne weather likes to go through cycles, where it rains for a few days and then has a few sunny and gorgeous days! i guess once you get used to it, it doesn't really bother you that much.. it's only trying to decide what to wear that's a pain.. but then again, it's always a pain no matter what the weather is!!i've been lugging my joycam around with me when i go out with cindy so that i can take photos of melbourne to bring back with me as memories. i hadn't actually touched my joycam for a few months, but now i remember why i loved it so much in the beginning! now all i have to do is learn those little tricks that make a average photograph into a memorable one :) *click click click* one day when i can get my hands on a scanner, i'll try and put the pictures up on the blog!
i watched america's sweethearts today and i have to say i quite liked it! it wasn't one of those intellectually stimulating movies (there hardly are any nowadays) but it's good for a laugh, and john cusack! *drools*
but on a more intellectual note, spencer tunick has just done another one of his all famous nude photographs in melbourne (of course i didn't go to participate!) but it seems that 4000 melbournians turned up to be in his photograph, making it THE biggest turnout for spencer tunick.. in my opinion, i think the australians will use any excuse to go naked in public and not get arrested for it!

what a wonderful thing warehouses are! cindy and i went over to the body shop warehouse along swan street today, and we were surprised that we didn't manage to find more things to buy! some of the things were going for real bargains, too bad it was only the discontinued lines that were on sale. but some sale is better than no sale!we're heading off to la porchetta for dinner in a while, and then cindy can finally have some authentic italian gelati! *giggles* it certainly doesn't feel like the start of the week.. whether or not that's a good thing i'm not quite sure yet :P
somebody commented on my birkenstocks today, and said that she liked them! but she'd never heard of the brand! *shock horror* how could there be someone out there who doesn't know birkenstocks?! her poor feet must be suffering!
on a slightly more sombre note, the emmys have been cancelled yet again.. i don't think that they're going to reschedule it this time.. but i guess you never can tell in the world of show business.

cindy and i hopped over to st kilda beach today to have a look at the arts market.. i just love those places... i think it's one of those things that you can never find in singapore.. unless you count all those pasar malams! but somehow... i think this is a little different from that :P
the weather was a little cranky at the beginning, but as the day went on, it turned out to be really gorgeous! typical spring weather with blue skies, a touch of clouds and a whisper of wind..
i've finally watched saving private ryan (or as lorraine calls it, saving ryan's privates!) and i have to admit it's not too bad.. i guess i kinda expected a little more from it, from the way everyone was describing the movie.. but a thought occurred to me while i was in the shower.. i wonder if tom hanks gets paid for the amount of on screen time he gets.. coz he seems to like to star in alot of three hour movies - forrest gump, saving private ryan, and the green mile! *hmmm*
i think my cold is starting to go away too! *yipee*

what a day cindy and i have had so far! it's only 3 45pm at the moment, but we spent most of the morning wandering around queen victoria market. there's just so much stuff there it's amazing! but i have to say i think my head wasn't quite in the right spot while we were walking around.. i think i might have been slightly high on flu medication!

i think i'm coming down with the flu..of course that's not the best of things to be coming down with, but i guess it's not really my choice either! *argh* i suspect the days of staying up coughing my lungs out and working my abs muscles will be coming up soon :(
on the bright side i did manage to get this really pretty shoes for my mom today at a bargain price of $30! and i had to buy another pair of birkenstock shoes because my old ones decided to give up finally and the sole of the shoe just split in half :( *sobs*
cindy and i have got clothes all over the apartment now, for some reason the dryer decided not to work that well today, so we've got all our half dried clothes hanging around the apartment in a desperate attemtp to get everything dried!! and on top of that, we had to clear out the fridge to defrost the freezer.. so much frost had developed we almost couldn't open the freezer door!

*streetch*i went out and bought two cds yesterday, Ian Pooley, and a ministry of sound chillout album, and i have to say, i think i made two pretty good buys! those two are just the types of cds that you put on to get yourself bobbing to just before you head out the door, but at the same time, it's not so high energy that you can't just pop it on when there are friends over just chatting away :)
cindy and i are off to see my lecturer today to see how good his persuasion skills are (we'll see if he can convince cindy to do media studies!) and then after that i think it's more walking walking walking around the city again!
i've got an extra extra extra long day at school tomorrow, and i hope that i don't fall asleep in any part of it! *zzz*
on a side note, as cindy mentioned in her blog, our lives were made a little bit better at 0705am yesterday, and there's no doubt that we're eternally grateful for it! *winks at cindy*

i'm trying desparately hard not to check any of the sports news because i haven't watched the race yet, but at least by tonight when everyone comes over for the usual f1 dinner, we can finally watch the rest and be in tune with the rest of the world! YAY!
today was a pretty warm day again, not that i'm complaining alot, because it means that i don't have to wear so many damn layers too!! but good news at least, it's the 11th week of school, only two more to go!
cindy and i did the housewifey thing today and went to the supermarket to stock up on more food.. even after two trips to vic mart! ahaha, i think we've definately stocked up for the next two weeks at least!
i had problems logging on to the internet earlier in the day, it seems that someone else in my building had hijacked my IP address, the bastard! i'm sure there's enough IP addresses to go around, he didn't have to go and take mine!! i just hope that while he was using it, he didn't go downloading album after album, otherwise there goes my download limit :(
