hot hot hot hot hotokay, so it was really only about 27 degrees, but compared to the weather that we've been having the last few days (late teens) today seems like a real scorcher!
the semester break has finally come to an end :( i have to say it was pretty good while it lasted.. and the time seems to have just flown by! i think the fact that cindy has been here keeping me busy has something to do with it, but i'm glad! otherwise i would have probably just sat at home in front of the computer wasting my days away..
we went cafe hopping today with some of cindy's friends, and if there was a job of professional cafe hopper, i think i'd be able to do that quite well! what makes a good cafe? atmosphere and ambience is probably one that ranks the highest.. good service is always a plus too, and of course the music has to be listenable.. none of that retro crap! *shudders*
formula one tonight! except that they're showing it at bloody 3 50 am in the morning.. *Grumbles* if i didn't have school tomorrow, i'd have definately stayed up to watch it! better remember to set the VCR....

if chadstone is the mecca of shopping, then the warehouse that we went to today in abbotsford must certainly be the mecca of bargain shopping!! row after row after row of all these clothes, from mooks, stussy, split, freshjive, m-one-11, 4 star, and the list just goes on! it was almost like being in heaven.. except that i had limited cash and they didn't always have my size!i managed to get quite a few bargains, a mooks shirt and dress for myself, as well as a stussy bag, and three shirts for chad! and altogether they were 160! and if you know mooks prices and stussy prices, i'd say i got a pretty damn good deal for it all!
ok ok, cindy and i have been saying this for days and days, but i think we might FINALLY let our wallets have a rest.. but let's not speak too soon shall we? :P

CHADSTONE CHADSTONE CHADSTONEi don't think i've ever had to wake up so early to go shopping before in my life! cindy and i got up at about 8 30am because lorraine was coming to pick us up at 10 10am..
okay, so 1 hour and 40 minutes sounds like a lot of time to get ready, but don't forget that it's a studio apartment, with one bathroom, and TWO girls sharing and having to get ready.. the 1 hour and 40 minutes were certainly put to full use!
i *think* we got through all of Chadstone, i'm not quite sure because the place is just so damn huge! i'm still amazed at it each time i go.. but i think my feet have fallen off somewhere along the way..
i think this up coming weekend will be a lazy one, cindy and i are all shopped out (but then again, that's never possible isit?) and our wallets are in ICU at the moment from its overuse :P
oh hell, we only live once!

ahh, today was a lazy day by standards, cindy and i stayed in the city area and just walked around, and not much walking at that! i think all those days of walking and shopping have finally taken their toll, so tonight we're off to bed early so we can conquer CHADSTONE tomorrow! the mecca of shopping!i have to say, i think this one week holiday has been one of the best i've had in the long long time!

surprises of surprises, i've actually managed to finish an essay, and it's a whopping TWENTY FOUR days early!! how unbelievable is that? i have to say though, i'm quite proud of myself! i don't think i've ever managed to finish an assignment that early before! but at least now that's out of the way, cindy and i can do more guilt free shopping! (guilt free only academically of course, financially the guilt is always there!)i did manage to catch cats and dogs today, and it's such a funny movie! the cutie little beagle in the movie is just the most adorable thing in the wooooooooorld! it was good to see a comedy and just laugh and laugh away..
i think i'd have to consider today a great achievement.. essay finished, dinner cooked, funny movie watched, and laundry done! now if only they'd tell me i won the lottery...

whoa, the amount of ground that cindy and i covered in chapel street today, i think i'm really going to lose alot of weight with all the walking that we did! up and down chapel street we went, of course we lots of detours into stores! ehehehe..but a day well spent i'd say, i managed to find quite alot of good bargains (of course, after getting alot of scolding from cindy, who at least managed to stop me from overspending at the same time) but there's certainly nothing like retail therapy coupled with real exercise!

they're showing the america's tribute to heroes for the third time this week! it's not a bad show i have to admit, especially with the amount of star power that they managed to gather! i guess this must be one of the very few times that all the networks have banded together to actually help one another, instead of working against each other. it's a pity that it took such a great tragedy for it to happen, but i guess competition is always a good thing for the general public too, it means we have more variety to choose from!heh!
whooops, think i'm rambling a bit!
went shopping today with cindy and we managed to find some great bargains at myer! if you show them your student card to them, you'll get 15% discount!!! how great is that?! if only every place could be like that.. so student friendly! but then again, that probably means that my wallet will also be in alot more pain!
and on a side note, i just wanted to say hi to my sweetheart :) HI BABY! *waves*

cindy has arrived! well, in a way she's come and gone.. she's gone off to stay with her friend in gippsland for the weekend, so they can follow the school tour to go to the dandenongs to have a look at the tulip farm there, and then off to the royal melbourne show!but since cindy arrived at about 7 am this morning, we've been pretty much just wandering around the city from there.. i've been trying to orientate her to the melbourne streets.. hopefully by the time she leaves she'll know the melbie streets like the back of her hand! *giggles*
i did at least manage to pick up some bargains today.. i bought this gorgeous bag from dangerfield for $15! mainly because they couldn't find a barcode for the bag, and even the other stores didn't have it, so they just said 'how does $15 sound?' and that's what i paid!
and on top of that target was having a 20% sale, so of course, i had to buy some stuff from there too :)
now i'm just eyeing my two alabastor egyptian cats... the store that they're in is having a 30% sale.. and i think if ever there was a time to buy them, then now is probably the time! the only thing is that they're about a couple of kilos each.. which might make things a little hard.. but i cant' help lusting after those cats.. it just seems like one of those things that i HAVE to get for my future house because it'd be such a stylish touch to it!
if only i had my own apartment to match the cats now!

*ouch*i think this is a bad sign that i've been on the computer too much.. my right wrist has started hurting..
looks like i'll just have to get reaquainted with my playstation, and spend all of my time on that instead!
and on a good note, it's the end of the school week for me, which means my term holiday has unofficially started already! YAY!!!
i think i'm a happy girl :)
if only i could afford those review pants, life would be pretty damn good!

lazy lazy day today! i printed out an assignment to hand in, which i did so, and the rest of the day pretty much just went by without much effort!ahhh, but i think days like these are good once in a while, and i guess i'm not feeling so much pressure at the moment to do my assignments because most of them are due next month.. i was trying to get them up and started before cindy got here, but hey, i might as well take my time, and get them done as the time goes along! :)
now if only i could be done with school in the first place, then i think life could be that little bit more perfect! but hey, i gotta appreciate what i have in the here and now ..

i just found this old mail account that i used to have (one of those web based ones) and read through all these old emails that my friends had sent to me, and i have to say it really puts a smile on your face!mind you, these mails go back almost three years, so alot of the stuff that's in them probably isnt' relevant anymore, but just the memory of them really cheered me up alot! i just realised that i've known a few of my friends for almost 10 years now! TEN YEARS! that really makes me feel quite old!
but i'm glad for the friends that i have, coz i think they're the ones who have made me who i am.. or at least tried to keep it that way! ahahah..
so right now, i just want to say, thank you to all you guys out there, you're a wonderful bunch, and i'm glad that i can count you guys as my friends :)
you'll know who you guys are!

cindy gets here in almost 4 days! and knowing her, she's probably only just started getting packed... tsk! but now that the weather's warming up, the sun is shining more often, and the sales are coming up, i'm sure that she'll have a great time here! melbourne is always such a lovely city to come and visit... i don't think i'd even mind coming back here to live when i'm a little older!i just realised today that i'm in week 10 of school already, and that means that there's only 3 more (official) weeks left! that's not including of course the one week break that comes up next week.. but my oh my does the time really fly!
in a month's time i'd have officially finished university! there's no saying whether i'd have officially graduated *fingers crossed* but let's hope that's the case!!
ahh the delights of formula one dinner :)
i think this must be one of the things that i enjoy the most about melbourne, being able to get together with friends, enjoy a good meal and then watch a race afterwards!
we had seafood marinara today, because it was the italian grand prix.. yes i know it may sound a little corny that we match our dinners to the country that the race is in that week, but it gives us a little variety, and it certainly helps when you don't know what to cook! it does, however get a little difficult when we have to cook for a country we have no idea about!
it was my first attempt at seafood marinara, so i must admit i was pretty proud, especially when everyone was still feeling a-okay at the end of the night.. so at least i know everything was cooked properly!
another week of school is starting, and then finally a holiday! it's only for a week, but i guess it's always better than nothing :)

something just popped into my mind..i wonder if all this war could be avoided if afghanistan just handed over osama bin laden! we'd probably save alot of money, and probably alot more bloodshed..
i don't think we need another war.. and i'd certainly like to go through my lifetime never having seen one..
what a beautiful day today was.. the sky was blue, the sun was shining.. if only everyday could be like today! i went for pilates in the morning as usual, and i predict that i'm probably going to start getting sore by tomorrow, but hey, at least i know my muscles have been worked :P
the news still drones on about what happens in the US.. i think it's probably something we're going to be hearing for a long time to come.. i just hope that nothing gets too much out of hand, and the 'act of war' doesn't get carried out too far..
even in the local news australia has been talking about the collapse of one of the local airlines, which of course, meant that all the employees were out in the state library lawn protesting away..
it seems like the australians like a good protest now and then!
if you've got 5 seconds to spare, light a candle for the victims in the US..
i have to say though, watching some of the news reports still makes me tear a little..
even formula one is paying its respects.. the ferrari team has stripped it's famous red cars of its sponsorship logos and capped a black nose cones on its two cars.. they're not sure if the US grand prix will still be going on, but that's still a good three weeks away..
i guess it's safe to say that virtually no one in the world hasn't heard of what happened... save for those big brother contestants!

well, the news have stopped showing hour after hour of the same pictures.. and at least life is starting to return to normal bit by bit..i did manage to hear from leanne in the end, and i'm glad that she's alright..

*sigh*i guess by now everyone in the world already knows what has happened... i think it's such a terrible terrible thing, and i've had to force myself to turn off the tv (thank you lorraine!) just so i can stop getting so upset about what has happened.
it really feels like something right out of a hollywood movie, with great special effects and the cooperation of news crews all around the world.
i'm kinda half expecting someone to just interrupt the bulletin halfway just to say HAH! FOOLED YOU GUYS! and then it'll all be over... but i seriously doubt that's going to happen.
i don't think these guys realised what an impact this would have on not only the US but the rest of the world.. stock markets all over the world have been dropping rather badly, sports events are being cancelled.. i guess if there is one good thing to come out of it, at least the countries seem to be more united in trying to get to the bottom of everything..
i hope Leanne is alright, she's in indiana, and i know it's not really anywhere near new york or washington but i guess i just can't help but worry that's she's alright! tried to call her a few times too, but couldnt' get through! damn phone lines!
i have to admit though, i was scared.. i was really really scared..

wow, my pilates class must really be working quite well! even last night my stomach muscles and even my rib muscles were all aching! and of course i always remember how sore they are when i have to sneeze! *ah choo!* *owwwwwwww*but hey, at least i'm getting some exercise done :)
i had a VCD night yesterday with kelvin and sharon, and i watched this chinese movie called 'summer holiday' which i have to admit was quite good! and i understood pretty much all of the movie, despite the fact that it was in chinese, and had malay subtitles! ahaha, which i can only guess means that my chinese really isn't as bad as i think it is! *grins* i think i quite like all these chinese movies, they're certainly a refreshing change from the stereotypical hollywood types!

*streetch* i've been hit by the insomnia bug again..even though i'm yawning every two minutes and my eyes are practically closing.. it seems that once i crawl into bed, my brain just starts working overtime and refuses to keep quiet!
i've tried the warm milk and all (okay, i don't know if that's working or not coz i only just had it!) i've done the reading a book till you get sleepy, which didn't quite work either coz i ended up finishing the whole book..
*sigh*
why can't i just get a good night's sleep?
and no weird dreams either!

what a day i've had! i managed to squeeze in a bit of shopping today, and i'm feeling slightly guilty about it, so let's just keep what i bought a secret for now :PPi did also catch driven, which despite what everyone says about it not being that good a movie, i loved it! but i guess you'd have to be a racing fan to be able to enjoy the all the action and the racing in the movie, but i can assure you i think it's going to be one of those movies i really wouldn't mind watching one more time!
all those cars, the speed! the action! i think i'm a racing junkie.. but of course i could never become a race driver, i'm too polite on the roads, i'd just let everyone else pass me! ahahahah...

now today's weather looked more like a spring day! i think i can finally get round to enjoying the weather a little bit more, at least not have it spoil my plans for the day! ahaha :)i love it when the sun shines!
tonight's f1 race must have been one of the most happening ones! three restarts, one pretty bad crash, two stalled cars, and one that got left on the jacks when the cars were supposed to go for their warmup lap!
i guess you really never can tell what will happen in formula one!
and on top of that, there was a bond movie showing right before the race started.. i don't think i could have asked for a more perfect line up to the evening!!!

first day of spring? bleahhhh.. looked just like any other winter day to me! i guess i've got to give spring a little more time to show itself!i overslept this morning after my phone died (i use it as an alarm clock) and i had to run all the way to my pilates class! at least i managed to make it there in the end!
did a big pile of laundry today too! i just love the smell of fresh laundry!
